Does acupuncture hurt? Acupuncture needles are much thinner than the ones you are used to for blood draws. Most people feel very little, and some feel a brief tap, heaviness or dull ache that quickly settles. Believe it or not, most people fall asleep.
Is acupuncture covered by insurance? Many extended health plans cover acupuncture and we will provide you a receipt. Direct billing is offered at the Calgary location to most major companies. Plan coverage varies, so be sure to check your plan for details.
Is acupuncture safe if I'm pregnant or trying to conceive? Yes, when done by a Registered Acupuncturist who is trained to tailor the appointment for this, this is something we do often. Please let us know if you are currently or might be pregnant or going through fertility treatments.
What should I wear? We suggest coming as if you are getting a massage. The table is heated and the blankets are extra cozy.
Do I need to do anything before I come? We suggest making notes of your concerns, so you can be detailed when filling out your forms or to discuss at your follow up. Eat a light meal and skip the makeup if you're coming for cosmetic.
